Overdose deaths caused by prescription opioids continues to grow in Maryland. From January through June 2016, 210 prescription opioid deaths were recorded in Maryland – a 10-percent increase over the first six months of 2015, according to the Maryland Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene.
As Maryland’s largest writer for workers’ compensation insurance, Chesapeake Employers Insurance believes tackling the issue of opioid drug-abuse and addiction is important on all fronts, which includes helping to promote the prevention message in your workplace.
