Washington County Applies Formula to Offset New Development

As reported by Herald-Mail Media, a school-mitigation agreement was revoked Tuesday in favor of a newer alternative process that uses a formula to address school inadequacies.

As described,

Under the current formula, a single-family dwelling in the proposed Dan Ryan development carries a fee of $2,892, as compared to the cost in the 2009 agreement of $5,708 per lot, according to county documents.

At that rate, the developer could realize a savings of about $370,000 on the entire subdivision, located east of Marsh Pike.
