Starting Friday, March 18, the Maryland Independent local newspaper will have a Charles County government information column written by county staff.

According to the Charles County press release,

The purpose of the column is to make residents more aware of county government services, events, and opportunities. The column will be published bi-weekly.

The column will kick off with a 3-part series focusing on the county’s permits process. The March 18 column will highlight home improvement permits. The second installation of the series will focus on business permits, and the last will premiere the upcoming automation system, which  will make the permitting process more streamlined and efficient.

Columns will be archived on the Southern Maryland Newspapers Online website at www.somdnews.com. Viewers will not need a paid subscription to read the column online. Alternatively, you can visit Charles County Government on Facebook every other Friday for the updated column at www.facebook.com/CharlesCounty.
