Some Baltimore County Schools Will Start Earlier This Year

Shifting to later start times for schools throughout Maryland has been a topic of debate in the General Assembly, and several local jurisdictions in recent years. However, as reported in the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore County may shift some schools the opposite direction this year.

The reason is to accommodate bus schedules, as described,

The county board of education approved new hours at 18 schools last month to accommodate changes to bus schedules. Seven schools will start later, but 11 — most of them in the county’s northwestern county — are set to begin five to 15 minutes earlier.
