Ruppersberger Leads Bipartisan Effort to Protect Critical Infrastructure Financing Tool

Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger of Maryland is taking the lead to protect the tax exemption on municipal bonds, a position urged by MACo. Tax-exempt municipal bonds finance state and local infrastructure including schools, hospitals, water, sewer facilities, public power utilities, roads and mass transit.

Congressman Ruppersberger’s press release describes,

As a former county councilman, county executive and president of the Maryland Association of Counties, Congressman Ruppersberger believes that tax-exempt bonds are among the most efficient way to fund critical infrastructure projects that have created hundreds of thousands of jobs.
