Washington County Commissioner William Wivell has been selected by the Washington County Republican Central Committee as their nominee to replace Delegate Andrew Serafini in the House of Delegates. Commissioner Wivell was recently returned to office in Washington County, after serving as a County Commissioner from 1998-2010.

From coverage in the Herald-Mail:

Chairman Stephen Showe said the committee will send Wivell’s name to Gov. Larry Hogan for nomination. Wivell, a current Washington County Commissioner, was one of 13 applicants for the position, according to the committee.

If Wivell is appointed to take the delegate seat, Hogan would fill Wivell’s seat after the central committee nominates someone.
