Frederick County Holds First Meeting; Otis & Keegan-Ayer Chosen for Leadership Roles

Not only did Frederick County switch to a charter form of government and swear in the new elected officials on December 1, but it also held it’s first council meeting. During the meeting, Bud Otis was chosen to be the Council President and MC Keegan-Ayer was chosen to be Vice President.

WFMD also notes that the council decided when the meetings were going to be held.

…the Council decided to hold their meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month beginning at 3:00 PM. Public hearings would start at 7:00 PM.

The Council also discussed other issues such as who would attend the Maryland Association of Counties winter meeting in Cambridge, as well as policies on cell phones and laptops by Councilmembers. The board also talked about staff support for and proposed rules for the council.
