MACo’s Winter Conference will be held January 7-9, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Cambridge, MD. The conference theme is “The Road Ahead” and will focus on policy challenges for local government, building relationships with newly elected officials at the county, state, and legislative levels, and legislative priorities for the upcoming General Assembly Session.

Educational sessions will provide a mix of topics, from overviews on county government fundamentals to more advanced policy issues and strategic planning on MACo’s legislative initiatives. Special programming will be provided for newly elected officials.

Every four years, following an election, MACo offers a “Newly Elected Officials Orientation” which helps immerse new elected officials in local government, the role of MACo, the legislative process, and educational options such as the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance.

**Newly Elected Officials – county, State, or Legislator: Please register at the rate corresponding to your new elected position, even if you have not been sworn-in by the registration deadline of December 5, 2014.**
