COVER IMAGE-smlMACo’s Winter Conference will be held January 7-9, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Cambridge, MD. Over 400 individuals will attend, representing Maryland’s county, State, and Federal governments, along with commercial and nonprofit entities interested in working with government officials.

The theme of this conference is “The Road Ahead” and will focus on legislative priorities in the upcoming General Assembly Session and welcoming newly elected officials as we begin a new four-year term. Sessions will feature a mix of overview sessions for new officials and in-depth policy topics for returning elected officials and staff.

On Wednesday, January 7, MACo will offer a special morning of programming – the Newly Elected Officials Orientation. The orientation will cover topics such as an overview of local government, what to expect as a local government official, elected officials’ role in the legislature, county budgeting, and a mentoring session with veteran and current elected officials.
