The Power of Possibilities (POP) project will be hosting a one-day conference for businesses and entrepreneurs in the Western Maryland region and neighboring counties in Pennsylvania and Western Virginia. The conference offers participants the opportunity to network and learn from government and industry leaders about ways to enhance the regional economy. As announced on the project’s website:
The Greater Cumberland Committee, in partnership with Garrett College and other regional organizations, is working to help improve the economic conditions of rural Appalachia through a new initiative called the Power of Possibilities. The Power of Possibilities (POP) project encompasses a focus on emerging industries, business collaboration and entrepreneurship to develop and advance the tri-state region of Garrett, Allegany and Washington County, Maryland, Bedford and Somerset County, Pennsylvania and Hampshire and Mineral County, West Virginia.
Join us for the keynote event, the Power of Possibilities Summit, on October 24 at Garrett College in McHenry, Maryland. Specifically designed with regional infrastructure and ecosystem entities in mind, this conference will offer a regional economic update, industry and government speakers and a “toolkit” of resources to assist education, government and non-profit community organizations for working with entrepreneurs.
The conference will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Garrett College. It is the first in a series of three conferences and related business training and mentoring opportunities for the counties in the region. Online registration is now open. For more information visit the project’s website.
