The Healthy Communities Initiative of Harford County would like to invite you to take part in the 4th Annual Healthy Harford Day on Saturday, September 27, which is designed to promote healthy eating, physical activity, and improved wellness in Harford County.

From 9 am until 1 pm,

people can come  to learn about ways to get and stay healthy in Harford County. Chronic disease (such as heart disease, stroke, COPD, and diabetes) is the leading cause of death and disability in Harford County. According to the World Health Organization, at least 80% of heart disease, stroke and type II diabetes, and 40% of some cancers are preventable through proper nutrition, daily physical exercise, and smoking cessation. Healthy Harford’s goal is to help make Harford County the healthiest community in Maryland.

Healthy Harford Day is designed to educate the public about existing initiatives, services, and programs in Harford County that support residents in their efforts to live healthier lives, as well as promote those businesses and services in our community that support those choices.

Healthy Harford Day is a relaxing, family-friendly event, located at 119 South Hays Street, Bel Air; next to the Bel Air Farmers’ Market.  More than 1,000 people participated last year.  Visit healthyharford.org for more information.
