Webinar: Local Government Effect of Supreme Court Case on Prayer

The State and Local Legal Center will be hosting a webinar to discuss the effect of the recent Supreme Court case upholding the right of public bodies to employ certain sectarian prayers during public meetings and events. The decision, in the case Town of Greece v. Galloway, comes from a town in New York State.

The webinar will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM EDT. Tom Hungar of Gibson Dunn, who argued the case before the Supreme Court, Douglas Haney, City Attorney for Carmel, Indiana, and Lanny Proffer, former General Counsel for the National Conference of States Legislatures, will lead the webinar discussion.
