Public Safety Radio Bill Passed by Both Houses

hb308The Senate Finance Committee voted favorable on the Public Safety Radio Bill, HB 308 today.  The bill’s crossfile, SB 338 was also voted favorable by the House Health and Government Operations Committee.

HB308/SB338 will create a governance body for the Statewide Public Safety Radio System, MD FiRST.  Creation of a representative governance body for Maryland FiRST was a MACo initiative for the 2014 Legislative Session.  MACo is pleased at the bill’s passage by both houses and thanks the Governor’s Office for support of this initiative.
