Wicomicocounty.org has a new look, as well as increased functionality and a cleaner, easier layout to navigate!
From Wicomico County’s press release:
“I am pleased to offer our citizens this newest opportunity to engage our county government as we strive to be more accessible and provide the most useful information about what it is we do and how we do it. I welcome all comments and suggestions as we put it to the test!” said County Executive Rick Pollitt.
Citizens and their local government will be able to communicate and report issues through some of the new featured modules, including:
- Bid Postings: provides a simple and easy-to-use method of organizing bids, RFPs and RFQs online for vendors or local contractors. This module allows site visitors to sign up to be notified when new bids are available or have been updated
- Citizen RequestTracker: allows citizens to report potholes or other issues related to county roads with the option of attaching a photo
- Community Voice: allows residents to submit ideas for improvements and changes they’d like to see within the community
- Website Personalization: by clicking “Log In” on the MyDashboard bar at the top of the screen, users may create a login for the site or use their Facebook profile to access MyDashboard. Once logged in, visitors can choose the modules, features and keywords that they’d like to see most often, including calendars, news items and emergency alerts.
With the new website Wicomico County will be able to increase its community engagement and enhance the communication between residents and the local government.
