House Committees Issue Favorable Report on Public Safety Radio Bill


On Friday, the House Health & Government Operations Committee and House Appropriations Committee issued favorable reports of HB308 Public Safety – Statewide Interoperability Radio Control Board – Established.  HB308 will create a governance body for the Statewide Public Safety Radio System, MD FiRST.  Creation of a representative governance body for Maryland FiRST was a MACo initiative for the 2014 Legislative Session.  

Both committee votes were unanimous in support of the bill.  The full House may vote on the bill this coming week.  The Senate Finance Committee will hear the Senate crossfile of the bill on Tuesday, February 18.
