Washington County Commissioners presented their annual state of the county address on Tuesday, February 5.  As reported by the Hagerstown Herald-Mail:

In Tuesday night’s presentation, the Washington County Board of Commissioners and County Administrator Gregory B. Murray reviewed the progress they made in 2013 and what their priorities are for 2014.

Murray said the county’s emphasis in 2014 will be on the “Three E’s” — the environment, economic development and emergency services.

He said the county has focused on keeping the area economically healthy, concentrating on infrastructure development so that the county will be attractive to new companies, because of the “pad-ready” sites available here.

Accomplishments for 2013 included an expansion at the Volvo Group and the opening of a library.
