Craig Rice Named Montgomery County Council President

As reported by WAMU, American University Radio, Craig Rice was named President of the Montgomery County Council this morning. As reported by WAMU,

A former state delegate, Rice says he will focus on helping small businesses during his year as the top councilman. He also plans on leaning on his experience in Annapolis in advocating for several bills the General Assembly will take up next year that would benefit the county.

This is likely to include a measure that would give the county more money for school construction.

Councilman Rice is also an active member of MACo who serves on MACo’s Legislative Committee and MACo’s Education Subcommittee.
