Frederick County Commissioners recently approved a grant to a local transportation organization, the Frederick Area Committee for Transportation (FACT), to provide assistance with advocating for transportation projects. As reported in the Frederick News-Post:

FACT will receive $25,000 to lobby for federal funding for county projects, coordinate with the state and federal delegation on transportation issues, and develop funding strategies, according to a memorandum of understanding between the board and the committee.

Local officials anticipate the funding will help secure dollars for projects by giving the county a greater voice at the state and federal level.
