Exploring Maryland’s Energy Potential
Maryland is a state that has access to a diverse array of energy resources including: an emerging infrastructure for renewable energy sources, untapped natural gas, substantial coal reserves, and the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant. Panelists will discuss and compare the benefits and drawbacks of Maryland’s various energy sectors and the role they could play in providing power for the future. Speakers will include experts on wind and solar power, gas, and nuclear power.

Sustainable Energy and Efficiency Practices
If implemented properly, energy efficiency and sustainable energy practices can result in both cost savings and environmental benefits. Panelists will discuss best practices and available programs that encourage and enable better energy usage. Speakers will include representatives from the Maryland Energy Administration, the Maryland Clean Energy Center, and other organizations offering funding programs for energy efficiency.

Registration is open to Maryland county officials and staff only and is FREE. Lunch is provided and registration is required.
