An October 16 Frederick News-Post article announces the appointment of Dwight Dotterer to lead the state’s Nutrient Management Program within the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s (MDA’s) Office of Resource Conservation in Frederick.
Dotterer, who operates a 205-acre crop farm in Johnsville with his wife, Suzette, was promoted in 2012 to regional coordinator for MDA’s Resource Conservation Operations Program. Maryland Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance appointed him Oct. 8 to lead the state’s Nutrient Management Program within the MDA’s Office of Resource Conservation in Frederick. …
In his new position, Dotterer will oversee six regional field offices with 13 technical and support staff members charged with implementing the certification, inspection and enforcement provisions of Maryland’s nutrient management law, according to the MDA.
“I’m excited about the new challenge,” Dotterer said. “I’ve been working with farmers since 2001 and the soil conservation districts, but I’m looking forward to the change.”
