Wicomico County Receives Bond Rating Upgrade

Wicomico County fared well in its most recent meetings with the bond rating agencies.  As reported by The Daily Times, two of the three bond rating agencies increased Wicomico County’s standing and the third, kept the rating the same.

The announcement, which stated Standard & Poor’s raised the county by two levels to AA+, Moody’s raised the county’s financial credibility by one rating to AA2 and Fitch kept the county at AA-, came Tuesday as the county went to the bond market.

Wicomico County Director of Administration Wayne Strausburg said the county is pleased with their new rankings.

“It was a very positive outcome for us,” he said. “They were very complementary of the financial management, the financial discipline that the county goes though.”
