Hitting a Grand Slam for Rural Maryland: Creating a Unified Playbook for the Prosperity of Rural Agriculture, Community, Economy, and Health
The day and a half conference will focus on defining key issues for Maryland’s rural communities. We hope through the integration of key rural stakeholders, we will work towards creating sustainable rural communities and plan for the future and prosperity of rural Maryland. The goal of the Rural Action Assembly is to connect, support, and hear rural stakeholders and provide them with a structured forum to identify and discuss significant issues confronting rural and non-metropolitan communities.
Participating stakeholders include:
- Rural citizens;
- State and local government leaders;
- Nonprofits that assist rural businesses and communities; and
- Professionals in health care, economic development, agriculture, forestry, workforce development, and community sustainability.
Outcomes of the day-and-a-half conference include networking, dissemination of information and resources, and the opportunity to collaboratively affect change and help guide future legislative agendas that impact people and communities across rural Maryland.
