On March 20, Allegany County Commission President Michael McKay was appointed to represent MACo on the executive board of the Rural Maryland Council. McKay will join Worcester County Commissioner Louise Gulyas in this service. Commissioner McKay is serving his first term as a county commissioner.
The Rural Maryland Council “brings together citizens, community-based organizations, federal, state, county and municipal government officials as well as representatives of the for-profit and nonprofit sectors to collectively address the needs of Rural Maryland communities.” Its leadership includes representatives from government, business, and other sectors who claim interest in rural issues across the state.
