Description: An underappreciated but important part of managing county government is managing monies – meeting short-term obligations and long-term goals. Citizens expect prudent and responsible decision-making, but optimum returns can advance resources for public priorities. Panelists will speak from several perspectives, reviewing the varying approaches used by the state pension system, by individual county governments, and by a local government pooled system.
