Local governments increasingly rely on the internet to deliver services to citizens and business partners. This constantly evolving “digital environment” offers an inter-connectivity that is both convenient and efficient, however it opens the door to a host of cyber security threats. These threats can range from a virus that shuts down a network to sensitive information being stolen. Addressing these challenges may seem daunting, but there are a number of steps that can be taken to strengthen a county’s cyber security posture.
The Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) provides cyber threat prevention, protection, response, and recovery to state, local, and territorial governments. The MS-ISAC 24 x 7 cyber security operations center provides real-time network monitoring, early cyber threat warnings and advisories, vulnerability identification, and incident response. MS-ISAC is a divison of the non-profit Center for Internet Security.
To learn more about how your county can become a member and take advantage of MS-ISAC call 518.266.3460 or email info@msisac.org (put new member in the subject line).
