Baltimore County Announces Water Testing Expansion

Sixth District Councilwoman Cathy Bevins announced today that Baltimore County will resume its water sampling program to include tidal recreational waters. The Baltimore County Department of Health currently monitors the tidal and fresh water bathing beaches, in accordance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Beach Act.

“Our waterfront is one of Baltimore County’s greatest assets,” said Councilwoman Bevins. “I am very pleased that the County Executive will resume this program. County residents have a special connection to the water, and the resumption of this program is a significant commitment.”

“Baltimore County’s waterfront is a true treasure,” said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. “Even in these very difficult budgetary times, I am pleased to be able to resume this important program. A clean green Baltimore County benefits everyone, and I appreciate Councilwoman Bevins’ advocacy on behalf of her communities.”

The Baltimore County website has more details on the program and testing locations.
