Minority County Elected Officials Caucus – Organizational Discussion
MACo 2012 Summer Conference
Saturday, August 18, 2012
12:30 pm—1:30 pm
Room 210, Roland E. Powell Convention Center, Ocean City, MD
All county elected officials face a range of issues and challenges, but minority officials see an ever-expanding series of issues specific to their demographics. MACo is in the initial stages of forming an official working group within the Association to better serve, educate, and coordinate efforts of African-American, Hispanic, and other minority elected officials. Join this lunch meeting, led by MACo President Ingrid Turner and Howard County Councilman Calvin Ball, for an informal discussion about the need for such a working group, the range of issues or activities suitable for its agenda, and to plan steps for moving forward.
There is no cost to attend this event; however, only county elected officials are invited to attend this organizational discussion. County elected officials should respond with plans to attend to Allison Valliant at avalliant@mdcounties.org by August 10, 2012.
