The Salisbury Daily Times reports on the decennial charter and district review process now before the Wicomico County Council. From their coverage:
The Wicomico County Council has received the Charter Review and Redistricting Committees’ recommendations and has begun deciding which suggestions it will adopt.
Both committees were formed by the council and spent months taking on the once-a-decade task of reviewing the county’s charter and carving up its five voting districts.
During the council’s Tuesday meeting, its seven members began looking at what could become their new districts as well as potential changes to the rules they and all county employees are governed by.
The most predominant changes to the district map include increasing the number of precincts from 38 to 50, but possibly without increasing the number of polling locations.
