On February 22, County Executive John Leopold appointed John Hammond as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).  John replaces Dennis Callahan as CAO who passed away from a heart attack on February 8.

Mr. Hammond has been employed in Anne Arundel County for 18 years, and has served as the Budget Officer for Anne Arundel County since December of 1993. Prior to serving as the Budget Officer, Mr. Hammond held the position of Finance Officer with Anne Arundel County.  He  also serves on the Anne Arundel County Retirement and Pension System Board of Trustees and on the Board’s Investment Committee.

Mr. Hammond holds a Bachelor’s degree in business and industrial management from the Johns Hopkins University, and a Master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton Graduate Division of the University of Pennsylvania.
