The Allegany County Commissioners, Michael W. McKay, Creade V. Brodie, Jr., and William R. Valentine will hold a press conference on Tuesday February, 28 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Allegany County Office Building, Room 100-701 Kelly Road, Cumberland, Md.

A major component of the Governor’s plan calls for the shift in pension liability from the state to county governments for personnel employed by the Allegany County Public School System, Allegany College of Maryland, and the Allegany County Public Library System personnel.

It is extremely important to have a wide range of participants who can speak to the shift’s effect on education and other county services, the county’s workforce, the tax rate, etc.
