Thursday, January 5, 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM
Health and human service agencies provide essential health and welfare services to the public. However, Federal deficit reductions and actions by a Congressional “Super Committee” have placed funding to continue delivering these essential services to disadvantaged populations in question. Panelists will discuss federal reductions in these program areas, what these reductions mean in terms of service delivery, and offer thoughts on how local agencies can cope.
Speakers Include:
1) Laura Hanen, Chief, Government and Public Affairs, National Association of County Health Officers
2) John Murphy, Executive Director, National Association for County Community & Economic Development
