Prince George’s County Signs MOU with Children’s National Medical Center and Dimensions Healthcare to Improve Pediatric Primary Care

On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, Prince George’s County Council Chair, Ingrid M. Turner, Chief Executive Officer of Children’s National Medical Center, Dr. Kurt Newman and Chief Executive Officer for Dimensions Healthcare System, Ken Glover, gathered at Seat Pleasant Elementary School in Capitol Heights, MD to hold a joint Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) Signing.

The MOU establishes a collaborative agreement which will provide primary pediatric services in the County through the Children’s National Mobile Health Van. From the Prince George’s County press release:

Once the MOU is implemented, Children’s National will provide mobile primary care health services at least three times monthly at pre-determined locations in targeted Prince George’s County communities.  Children’s National and the County intend to work together to inform residents, in advance, of the availability of mobile health services and its capabilities. 

In addition, Dimensions will participate in and support the collaborative project by appointing appropriate staff to assist Children’s National in developing an effective implementation strategy for this innovative mobile primary care initiative.
