Maryland State Senator Nancy Jacobs has announced that she will be stepping down as the Senate Minority Leader. Senator Jacobs has served as a member of the Senate since 1999, representing Harford and Cecil counties. The Washington Times reports that the Senator will remain in office during the coming session, but is leaving the leadership role to pursue possible runs for governor, Harford County executive or a U.S. Congressional seat.
“While I’m considering them all, I may not do any. But I’m going to be extremely busy, so it wouldn’t be fair to our caucus to remain as leader.”
