MACo raises concerns with “indicators” attachment to transportation projects

In the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee on March 11, MACo Executive Director Michael Sanderson raised concerns with SB 760, a bill proposing to add more information ot submissions of major transportation projects. MACo Offers Amendments to Clarify Towing Bill Does Not Preempt Counties

MACo Associate Director Andrea Mansfield offered testimony on HB 1120 this week before the House Environmental Matters Committee.  This bill would implement the recommendations from the Task Force to Study Motor Vehicle Towing Practices.   The amendments offered at the hearing would ensure that the bill does not preempt counties that regulate towers and removes a section that refers to a licensing process.  This could be problematic because a number of jurisdictions do not have a…

MACo Opposes Bill to Expand Benchmarks and Indicators in Consolidated Transportation Plan

Snow removal costs already hitting hard

The Washington Post reports that Prince George's County has already exceeded its annual allotment for snow removal costs, resulting from the heavy blanketing the region received this last week. Weekend’s Snow Storm Strains County Roads Budgets

The record setting weekend snowfall over 20 inches has challenged many local roads budgets according to an article in the  Baltimore Sun.
