An exciting new addition to Thursday and Friday of MACoCon this year will be the dedicated Training Stage, offering hands-on learning opportunities to
equip attendees with practical life-saving skills.
MACo’s Summer Conference has something for everyone. The content is not just focused on policy topics, but also on more hands-on skills for attendees. All training stage events occur in the BAYFRONT HALL.
Don’t miss the chance to learn more about life-saving skills in opioid overdoses and first aid – with practical tips on how to apply first aid training in county personnel programs.
And don’t miss special guest, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, who will be stopping by the Thursday 1 pm naloxone training – details below:
Life Saving Naloxone Training
Naloxone (also known by the brand name Narcan) is a life-saving medication that can quickly restore the breathing of a person experiencing an opioid overdose. During this session, attendees will learn how to recognize an overdose, how to respond, and how they could potentially help save a life.
There will also be a repeat of this session on Friday, August 15, starting at noon.
CPR, AED, and County Best Practices
The Training Stage will also feature a CPR/AED Awareness and County Program Best Practices session, presented by Rescue One Training for Life, on Thursday and Friday (August 14–15).
Attendees will receive a demonstration of hands-only CPR and learn how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). The session will also explore best practices for establishing and managing local AED programs, including new technology and county success stories.
Active Shooter Prevention Technology Demo
Join MidPoint Technology Group for a live demonstration showcasing cutting-edge technologies designed to detect and stop threats before a tragedy occurs. This session will explore how MidPoint can help transform your facility into a safer, smarter space for your faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
