Description: As global security challenges intensify and military focus shifts toward the Indo-Pacific, the Maryland National Guard faces an evolving dual mission: supporting homeland operations while maintaining readiness for federal deployment. This presentation will examine how these shifting priorities impact our state capabilities, covering the Maryland National Guard’s critical roles in emergency response, community support, cybersecurity, and infrastructure protection. Topics include their Counterdrug Program, Honor Guard, Freestate ChalleNGe Academy, and the upcoming Maryland Star Base Program. Maryland National Guard’s citizen Soldiers and Airmen remain adaptable and prepared to serve both state and federal missions – Always Ready, Always There!
