A Wednesday announcement from the county government in Prince George’s ushered in a new police chief to head up local law enforcement.
In a Wednesday announcement and Thursday swearing in ceremony, George Nader has taken over as the new Chief of Police for the Prince George’s County Police Department. After almost 20 years on the Prince George’s force and another 10 in law enforcement, Nader expects to bring a heightened focus on combating gun violence and illegal firearm trafficking.

County Executive Braveboy on Wednesday appointed George Nader as the new Chief of the Prince George’s County Police Department. CEX Braveboy called the 32-year veteran a “son of the department.” He retired from our agency as a Deputy Chief before serving with Metro Police.

Nader takes over from former Police Chief Malik Aziz after a four-year tenure and potential departure for a new role in Pheonix, AZ.
