In Cecil County’s decisive local elections, Republican candidates secured key leadership positions, with newcomers Adam Streight and Dawn Branch unseating incumbents in a sweeping victory.
County Executive
Adam Streight (R), who defeated incumbent County Executive Danielle Hornberger in the primary election, secured his win with 71.59 percent of the vote (28,853), while William Bill Kilby (D) follows with 27.65 percent (11,144 votes). Write-ins accounted for 0.76 percent (308 votes).
County Council
District 1
Bob Meffley (R) retains his seat with 75.34 percent of the vote (30,014), while Michelle Ravert (D) follows with 24.46 percent (9,743 votes). Write-ins make up 0.21 percent (82 votes).
District 5
Dawn Branch (R), who defeated incumbent Council Member Jackie Gregory in the primary election, secured her win in District 5 with 74.32 percent of the vote (29,195), while Russ Melrath (D) follows with 25.35 percent (9,959 votes). Write-ins accounted for 0.33 percent (130 votes).
