Eastern Shore 911 Centers Bridge Language Gaps With Convey911

Exciting News for Maryland’s Eastern Shore!

There has been a groundbreaking collaboration between the 911 centers across all nine of Maryland’s Eastern Shore counties and Convey911 to transform emergency communication and bridge language gaps.

Thanks to Convey911’s cutting-edge platform, ConveyCommunicator, residents and visitors can now receive seamless emergency and non-emergency assistance in any language!

Led by the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Communications Division and funded by the Maryland 911 Board, this initiative introduces a suite of innovative tools:

  • Text-to-911
  • Non-emergency texting
  • Streaming video with translation and transcription
  • Access to 22,000 human interpreters in over 180 languages

Sgt. Robbie Larimer of the Dorchester Sheriff’s Communication Division shares, “The language services provided by Convey911 have allowed us to offer faster, more reliable, and higher quality translation, improving our service to the community.”

Additionally, ConveyConnect, Convey911’s human interpretation service, supports real-time communication through a mobile app for first responders and over the phone.

The Caroline County Health Department is already using ConveyConnect, showcasing the enhanced capabilities and responsiveness this technology brings to our emergency services.
