The Maryland Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) has appointed Candace Dodson-Reed as its new chief of staff.
“We are thrilled to welcome Candace to the team,” said MEDCO Executive Director Tom Sadowski. “Her extensive experience and leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission to foster economic growth across Maryland.”

Dodson-Reed brings nearly 30 years of leadership, strategic planning, and communications expertise. She has held significant roles at Howard County Government, Anne Arundel Community College, and the Greater Baltimore Committee, reflecting her strong commitment to community enhancement.
At the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), she served for eight years in roles including vice president of Government Relations and Community Affairs and chief of staff to the president, advocating for innovation and efficiency.
Dodson-Reed holds a graduate degree from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in English from UMBC. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Educational Management at The Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
