Key Bridge Rebuild: Virtual Community Update

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is hosting a Virtual Community Update for the rebuilding of the Key Bridge on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 6-7 p.m.

This update meeting aims to inform the public about the progress and future plans for the Key Bridge reconstruction project. The update will discuss an overview of the work completed so far and how MDTA and partners are working to reconnect resources to the community and to revitalize and reimagine the Key Bridge.

Registration is now open at KeyBridgeRebuild.com for public members interested in attending the Virtual Community Update. The public will be able to watch a live stream of the event online or review the presentation and meeting recording at a later date.

Members of the MDTA team involved in these efforts will be available to answer questions about the project. While there will be an opportunity to ask questions during the Virtual Community Update, the MDTA encourages attendees to submit questions in advance online at KeyBridgeRebuild.com. All meeting materials will be posted to the website following the virtual event.

The reconstruction of the Key Bridge involves addressing several engineering challenges. Advanced technologies and durable materials are being used to ensure the bridge’s longevity and safety. Detailed technical updates will be provided during the Virtual Community Update, offering insights into the complex nature of the project.

The reconstruction will have an impact on traffic patterns. MDTA is implementing measures to minimize disruption and ensure smooth traffic flow. Information about planned detours, alternative routes, and tips for commuters will be shared during the update meeting. Stay informed to plan your travels effectively.
