Streight Increases Edge over Hornberger in Cecil Executive Primary

With provisional and mail-in ballots left to be counted, incumbent Danielle Hornberger and challenger Adam Streight are in a tight race for the Republican nomination for Cecil County Executive – with Streight adding to his lead with counted mail-in ballots. William Bill Kilby won the Democratic nomination.  

As of the morning of May 15th, Republican incumbent County Executive Danielle Hornberger collected roughly 47.74 percent (5,394) of early and election day votes, compared to challenger and current Cecil Scheriff’s Sergeant Adam Streight’s 52.26% percent (5,905). Provisional and mail-in ballots are yet to be counted.

Update: with mail-in ballots to date now counted and reported, Straight’s lead appears to be safe, with a margin of over 600 votes.

With no primary challenger, William Bill Kilby won the Democratic nomination for Cecil County Executive and will likely face Streight this fall.
