Spring has sprung, and with it comes the breathtaking beauty of cherry blossoms! While Washington D.C. may be renowned for its stunning cherry blossom displays and festival, several counties in Maryland offer equally enchanting viewing spots, minus the bustling crowds.
The tradition of planting cherry blossom trees in Washington D.C. dates back to 1912, when the people of Japan gifted them as a symbol of friendship to the people of the United States, as noted by NPS.gov.
According to the National Park Service, the peak cherry blossom bloom is expected to grace Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia from March 23rd to March 27th. While D.C. draws crowds from near and far to witness this natural spectacle, Maryland also boasts its fair share of picturesque locations to experience the cherry blossoms in all their glory.
