MACo’s staff is following and posting county primary election results. Many races are “too close to call” with many mail-in votes still pending, but many results seem clear.
The MACo staff writing for Conduit Street are working with the most current published results – currently unofficial but at least nearly complete, while some races remain very close. In 2022, Maryland faces the unprecedented confluence of many requests for mail-in ballots (more than 500,000 at last report) but a lingering state law keeping election staff from processing them until Thursday. As such, races that are even reasonably close should be viewed as “in play” until final tallies are announced – with no clear timetable for that to happen county by county.
Please check back in the days ahead to see updated information on results in county races, read about current county officials seeking other offices, and gain insight on trends from the statewide primaries.
As final results are compiled, Conduit Street will assemble statistics on county turnover and related metrics.
