Legislative Director, Natasha Mehu, just reached her 5-year anniversary with the MACo team!
Natasha started with MACo in January of 2014 as a Policy Analyst, covering a range of community-based policy areas, including health and human services, housing and economic development, and public safety and corrections. Her time before MACo was spent covering similar issues for various agencies and organizations, including the Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives. Natasha’s understanding of county needs and interests combined with her prior experience, relationship-building skills, and advocacy expertise quickly established her as an integral member of the MACo team and saw her named as Associate Director in July of 2016.
In January of 2018, Natasha took up the leadership position of Legislative Director. In this position, Natasha coordinates MACo’s advocacy in Annapolis while continuing to lead policy efforts on community-based topics. She is the staff liaison to several of MACo’s professional affiliate organizations, coordinating the needs and interests of County Administrators, Health Officers, Human Services Directors, and Correctional Officers. A frequent contributor to MACo’s blog and occasional guest speaker on the podcast, Natasha continues to serve as a wealth of information for the membership, legislators, and various partners in the policy arena.
Please join us in congratulating Natasha on her 5-year milestone!
