Several critical county legal issues will be considered during the 2019 legislative session, including local preemption (which is a MACo Legislative Initiative), comparative fault, and access to justice. It is important that both county elected officials and staff understand these issues, as they can affect a county’s authority, liability, and budget. Panelists will provide an overview of each of these legal issues, including their current status before both the General Assembly and the courts.
