Governor Larry Hogan’s communication chief is set to leave the administration and return to his job in the private sector.

Communications Director Matthew A. Clark has led Hogan’s public relations staff since the governor was inaugurated. Deputy communications director Douglass V. Mayer will take over for Clark in mid-August.
Before joining the Hogan administration, Clark worked for seven years at a Washington business consulting company, FTI Consulting. He’ll return there as a managing director.
Clark said he was “honored and proud” to have worked for Hogan, but was leaving his post for a position that allowed him to spend more time with wife and three young sons.
