Senate Tax Cut Bill May Be In The Works

The Daily Record‘s Bryan Sears interviewed Senate Budget & Taxation Committee Chair Ed Kasemeyer Monday night, and gathered some sense that a tax reduction bill may begin to move in the Senate.

From the Daily Record coverage:

“We’re trying to do something that will have a positive impact on everybody so we’re looking at tax rates in combination with the Earned Income Tax Credit,” Kasemeyer said in a brief interview following the Senate session Monday night. “The two together we think will help.”

“We’re trying to stay within the parameters of $50 million to $60 million,” Kasemeyer said. “We don’t want to look like we’re spending too much and look like we’re not responsible and keep it within a four or five year period.”

Kasemeyer said legislation could become public “next week some time.”
