4:30 pm – 5:00 pm – Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services Community CPR Program
Description:
Attend this session to learn how a fire-based EMS department is aggressively and progressively improving cardiac arrest survival in the community. In one way, this is being accomplished by a county-wide CPR training campaign. Subsequently, Howard County Dept. of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS) has achieved an approximate 50% survival rate of cardiac arrest incidents that occur in the community. As a result, Howard County HCDFRS has become the East Coast partner of the renowned Resuscitation Academy. The speaker will present an overview of the Department’s Community Risk Reduction Plan covering Community Outreach and Public Education programs. Participants will learn more about he highly successful Community CPR Program, how HCDFRS implemented the program, and the success and best practices of the program.
