Press Conference: Sequestration’s Effects on Maryland Counties

This Tuesday, February 19 at 9:30 a.m., Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, Prince Georges County Executive Rushern Baker and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman will hold a press conference urging Congress to find a way to avoid the sequester.  As described in the release,

The federal government’s sequestration cuts will go into effect on March 1 unless action is taken. The sequester would have a damaging impact on local economies in Maryland, cutting federal funds and severely impacting federal employees, federal contractors, education, social services and many other areas.

The press conference will be held at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, 2nd Floor, Rockville.  For more information, contact Esther Bowring at 240-777-6507.
